Introduction to Kirigalpotta Mountain
Kirigalpotta Mountain stands 2,388 meters (7,835 feet) above sea level and is located in the Nuwara Eliya district of Sri Lanka's central highlands, within Horton Plains National Park. Known as the “rocky hill” in Sinhala, Kirigalpotta is a hidden gem for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
Location and Accessibility
The mountain is situated in Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trailhead begins near the Horton Plains Visitor Center, approximately 32 km (20 miles) from Nuwara Eliya. Visitors need to pay an entrance fee to access the park and the trail.
